A busy day!

Today Rabbits and Hedgehogs visited Diss High School for their annual dance festival. They learned lots of new moves and everyone confidently performed the dance at the end on the big stage. Well done everybody!

Many children also attended our Bedtime Story event after school. Everyone looked great in their dressing gowns and pyjamas, and it was lovely listening to lots of stories whilst enjoying hot chocolate and biscuits.

Yummy hot chocolate!

Chinese New Year

To celebrate Chinese New Year we made dragon puppets!

A model bigger than us!

One of our 100 Memorable Events is to make a model bigger than us. We certainly achieved this with our huge Aboriginal totem poles!

Aboriginal Artwork

The children have been very busy creating some wonderful boomerangs decorated with Aboriginal style dot painting. We looked at lots of different pieces of artwork, and used them as inspiration for their own creations. It was evident that animals often feature in Aboriginal artwork, and the children chose their own animal for their design. We also looked carefully at the colours and patterns in different pieces.

I think you will agree they look wonderful!

Visit from Mrs Easter

Rose's Mum popped in to tell us lots more about Australia as she used to live there. Lauren began by asking the children what they already knew about Australia and I was so impressed by how many Australian facts the children had remembered. Well done everybody! It was lovely to listen to Lauren and the class especially enjoyed trying lots of typical Australian foods from the story Possum Magic including pavlova, lamingtons and vegemite sandwiches.

Thank you so much for coming in Mrs Easter.

The most delicious pavlova!

Our flight to Australia!

What better to do in cold, rainy January than jet off to Australia! This was a great start to our new topic. We completed our passports and tickets and boarded the plane for Sydney, Australia! Everyone was very excited and has been very keen to learn lots of new facts about Australia.
