Visit from the Norfolk Fire Service

This afternoon we had a visit from the Norfolk Fire Service. Both Year 1 and 2 found out about how important it is to never play with matches or fire. We discussed how fire can be very useful, but also in some situations very dangerous. The firemen explained to the children how to stay safe in a fire, and we all enjoyed trying on the difficult clothing items.

Faye and I even had a competition to see who could get dressed the quickest!

Breaking news! Mrs Lewis shrunk Hedgehogs class!

This morning, we used the magic shrinking spray to shrink to the size of a minibeast! We used this to help us imagine what it would be like to live in their microhabitat. This was so much fun, and great inspiration for our writing.

We climbed trees...

We made beds from leaves....

We discovered minibeasts! A worm that looked like a giant, scary snake!

We played hide and seek in the bushes....

We hid behind trees....

Balanced on small leaves...

Met friends on a log....

Faye even found a new hat!

We sheltered from the rain...

We played stuck in the mud...

We went surfing on a leaf...

What an exhausting morning! We all needed a well earned rest.

Minibeast hunt!

We had a lovely morning hunting for minibeasts. We found lots of different types, and the children enjoyed examining them under the magnifying glass. We also discovered some amazing caterpillars in their web! Here are a few pics...
