Mad scientists!

We had a lovely afternoon being scientists testing materials to see if they were magnetic or non magnetic and whether they would sink or float.  We had to predict what we thought would happen first.  An added challenge was to work together as a team with a leader.  We found out some interesting things and we are going to use our new knowledge after half term to design houses.

Here are some photos of us in action....

A sticky situation!

We have been reading Paddington Bear and making marmalade sandwiches all in the name of learning how to write instructions using imperative verbs.  Here are some of us trying what we have created.  For some, it was the first time we tried marmalade!  You can tell by our faces who was not sure about the taste.

Needless to say, we got very sticky.....

Adventures in salt daugh

We had a lovely time one-afternoon making salt dough treats for our Pudding Lane Bakery.  We were in teams and were assigned different roles including, leader and helper so we learned how to work effectively in a team as well.  Now our bakery has plenty of bread and cakes to sell!

Pudding Lane Bakery fun

We've been having loads of fun in our Pudding Lane bakery this term!

Learning how to shade Tudor Houses

We have been learning how to draw and shade Tudor houses!

Mrs Savage showed us how to copy the lines and shapes of an existing image of a Tudor house on the visualizer.  We then had a go at carefully doing it ourselves.  We then learned how to use the different grades of pencils to create light and dark areas and carefully applied this to our drawings.  Some of us were so inspired, we have gone on to create more pictures of Tudor houses at home and brought them into school.  You can see our finished artwork in our Topic books at parents' evening.
