Today we celebrated one of our 100 Memorable Events to complete our Great Fire of London topic. We had a fire, toasted marshmallows and sung songs around the fire.
Although it was smokey, it warmed us up and the marshmallows weren't bad either!
Next half term we will be learning about the history of toys in the topic It's Toys Story! See you then.
Firemen!
Today we had a surprise visit from the Diss Fire Service.
They talked to us about modern-day fire fighting. We learned about fire safety including smoke alarms, what to do if there is a fire in our house and the 'stop, drop and roll' technique.
We had a look around the fire engine, sat inside and used the hose to spray water. Great fun!

Great Fire of London silhouette paintings.
The children have produced some outstanding artwork. We explored colour mixing to create different tones to depict the fire. We talked about how to create different effects by varying our brush strokes. Then the children worked very carefully to draw and cut out their own silhouette. I think you will agree the results are fantastic!
